Trump and Biden Spend Final Minutes of Debate Arguing About Golf: ‘I’ve Seen Your Swing, I Know Your Swing’

Donald Trump and Joe Biden spent the final minutes of Thursday evening’s debate arguing about who has a better golf swing.

The first presidential debate of the 2024 election ended with personal jabs after the former president was asked about his cognitive ability to run for office. Trump and his Republican allies have often attacked Biden over his mental capacity by pointing to his old age, despite both candidates only being few years apart in age.

Trump justified his claim that he has excellent cognitive health by citing two golf club championships that he won, adding that it shows he’s in “very good shape” and Biden “can’t hit the ball 50 yards.”

“I’m in very good health. I just won two club championships, not even senior two regular club championships,” said Trump. “To do that, you have to be quite smart and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way. And I do it. He doesn’t do it. He can’t hit a ball 50 yards. He challenged me to a golf match. He can’t hit a ball 50 yards. I think I’m in very good shape.”

Biden and Trump then found themselves in an intense argument over whose golf swing is better.

BIDEN: I’d be happy to have a driving contest with him. I got my handicap when I was vice president down to a six. By the way, I told you before, I’m happy to play golf. If you carry on bag, think you can do it?

TRUMP: That’s the biggest lie that he’s a six handicap of all

BIDEN: I was eight handicap….

TRUMP: I’ve seen you swing I know you swing…Let’s not act like children.

BIDEN: You are a child!
