President Joe Biden will be sitting down with NBC News anchor Lester Holt next week for a one-on-one interview as calls for him to step down from the Democratic Party ticket continue to grow.

Biden will get together with Holt on Monday for the NBC interview in Austin, Texas, according to the network. It will air as a primetime special and in its “entirety” that night at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on NBC.

The announcement comes amid growing calls from within the Democratic Party for Biden to drop his reelection campaign and for another candidate to replace him at the top of the ticket. Multiple Democratic lawmakers have questioned his stamina following last month’s CNN debate and subsequent interviews.

One of those interviews was a 20-plus minute interview with George Stephanopoulos which earned arguably equal amounts of criticism as the debate. In video obtained by TMZ following the interview, Stephanopoulos said he does not believe Biden can serve another four years. He later apologized for giving the remark.

George Clooney was among the new voices to call for another candidate on Wednesday, just weeks after he helped host a fundraiser for Biden.

The president has repeatedly since the debate insisted that he is staying in the race and he is the best shot at beating Donald Trump for Democrats. In a post-debate Morning Joe interview, Biden lashed out at the “elites” in his party and challenged others to run against him at the convention.

“I’m getting so frustrated by the elites… the elites in the party,” he said. “Run against me. Go ahead, announce for president. Challenge me at the convention.”
