Three years after its initial release, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance remains the perfect JRPG, which shines in the new edition with better performance and an expanded story. Sensible additions to the game elements also make it easier to get started without scaring off hardcore fans, for whom new conveniences remain optional. A clear recommendation for anyone who has always wanted to get into the franchise or is simply in the mood for one of the best modern JRPGs.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is easily the definitive version of the game. Almost every gameplay change is an improvement that makes the game more fun to play, and the addition of the new storyline means that even returning players have plenty of fresh encounters to experience. At its core, it is still the same game but polished and improved enough that I found the entire experience to be a delight. It's a must-have for fans of the franchise, and even those who prefer the more plot-heavy Persona titles will find a lot to enjoy in Vengeance.

If you ask me, the best game ever made. Combat, fusion, music, choices, and story are the best they've been across the series. This game will absolutely make you think before heading into battle, choosing a skill, fusing, or making dialogue choices.
I only wish it were a little bit harder. everything gives too much xp. Maybe Atlus can add a DLC difficulty later? Please?

Atlus has done more than just a port with some improvements. Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is a successful game that surpasses its predecessor, a challenge to the conventions of the SMT saga itself and a more accessible gateway for new players, but one that veterans will enjoy as well.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance brings plenty of additions to the table, including a separate narrative, new content, several quality-of-life updates, improved technical performance, and updated gameplay systems. It is a fantastically refined JRPG that seeks to achieve and expand far more than the original release did, as well as right many of its predecessor’s wrongs. This is the game’s second chance, and it’s well deserved.
With its gameplay and graphical improvements, and a new story mode alongside the original, this is not only the definitive version of Shin Megami Tensei V, it might be one of the best in the SMT series overall. While it may not appeal to everyone, those who love a challenge will not be disappointed.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is an incredible expansion that adds a slew of new content and previous DLC for free, well-needed gameplay improvements and quality-of-life changes. While they don't solve most of the game's core issues, the added content more than makes up for it and provides a stellar experience that quickly proves its superiority to the base game.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is the definitive way to play Atlus' devilish game of demon fusion, with a new suite of bells and whistles to smooth over what can, at times, still be an abrasive gameplay experience. It's incredibly combat-heavy, which can become oppressive, but working towards raising that perfect demon remains as engaging as ever.
As someone who loves the original SMT V on Switch and us playing the new one again on Switch. The way they have fleshed out the characters and story just by adding a few things here and there throughout and theBIG changes they made in the new canon of vengeance arc this game is an absolute masterpiece for me now

Better by every measure. The og was amazing, save for the mediocre story, but the new canon of vengeance storyline really rectified this. The bosses, demons and content are some of the most enticing reasons atlus has given us to buy their game for a second time, besides the fact it is on more powerful hardware this time around. Which, in and of itself is a pretty big reason.

WARNING: If you are a "Casual" gamer, do NOT play this game on "NORMAL" or "HARD" difficulty. I barely beat this game on the default difficulty, it's really that hard!
REVIEW: I'm divided with this game story because CoV is a good story, but CoC is a bad story. At least the gameplay is fun, and there is a ton of variation with unique enemies that have cool designs. I recommend this to experienced JRPG gamers. But for casual gamers like me, all I have to say is to beware of this game's difficulty.
