Fans of quality action and thriller storytelling will have a good time with "The Terminal List," even if they'll probably be able to predict exactly where it's going.
Though the complicated particulars of the conspiracy are fairly clever and original, if also improbable, the basic mechanics of the plot remain simple and straightforward and easy to follow: Set ‘em up and knock ‘em down. Not a show for everyone, and not what one would ever call “fun,” but it may just be your cup of tea, with a dash of strychnine.
[Chris Pratt is] miscast in this occasionally thrilling and well-paced but ultimately predictable, formulaic and cliché-riddled series. In a role that calls for an actor to demonstrate a wide range of the deepest possible human emotions, Pratt comes across as slightly stiff and not fully immersed in the character.
The Terminal List‘s plot defies logic, if you stop to think about it for even a minute, but it confidently shoves its way past any such concerns. It’s utterly humorless, too, punctuated by crude bursts of graphic violence. ... The cast is talented, to be sure, but they’re just going through the motions here.
At eight hours for a book that easily could have been adapted in two hours, it’s been left on the grill for so long that the result is dry and tasteless. It’s the entertainment equivalent of a charred hockey puck, with the same limited range of flavor and aesthetics.
Unrelenting from start to finish
This show is easily one of the best shows I've ever personally had the opportunity to watch. I saw a preview about a week prior to the release and a few buddies and I just happened to be drinking and browsing for something to watch when this was dropped a few hours ahead of schedule. I COULD NOT stop watching this... every episode was like a mini movie, and the story could not have been more perfectly written. Chris Pratt deserves Emmy after Emmy for this... he brought to life the character and the authenticity that was observed was undeniable. Congrats on a true masterpiece and shame on any of these completely biased and so called "critics" who gave this review anything but stellar marks. This show is nothing short of incredible in ever way.
I cannot believe the public response to this. It does not have the wit of Reacher or the writing/acting chops of The Old Man, but boasts the same kind of scores. Must be something in the water. It is decidedly average in every respect. It is serviceable entertainment, if slightly slow. But if you have a broad range of content at your disposal, you will almost certainly have something better to watch any night of the week. And why RottenTomatoes has stopped the vote at 94% is puzzling.
This show is conservative propaganda/kill the bad guys/ us against them; covering every reason why America is mocked. It ranking so high on the user's list just shows me how little I can trust the tasteless bros who takeover the reviewing over here. What a waste of time and a complete embarassment for Amazon video.
