Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora is being investigated by police over claims he threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and business partner Nikki Lund.
The 55-year-old is alleged to have threatened designer Nikki, who he dated on and off for eight years, during a furious phone call on March 19, saying he would 'dig a hole in the desert and bury her'.
Nikki, a friend of Kim Kardashian, reported the allegation to police a week later.
While a rep for the star has said there's no truth to the claims, the Los Angeles Country Sheriff's Office told the New York Daily News: "I am confirming we are investigating such an incident."
“She stated that Mr. Sambora made some threats against her,” they added. “Deputies tried to contact Mr. Sambora, but he was not at his residence. A report was taken, and now Malibu Lost Hills detectives are investigating.”
The legendary rocker is thought to be currently on holiday with his ex-wife Heather Locklear and their daughter Ava.
A source told the the Mail Online: "They are in the midst of unraveling their fashion business Nikki Rich.
"The threat happened in the midst of Nikki launching her solo line. Richie apparently went mad on the phone at her and threatened to kill her."
Richie and Nikki started dating in 2006 and the pair were due to open a shop selling their designer clothes in Los Angeles, but he pulled out of the company last month.
He recently began dating Aussie beauty Orianthi after splitting with Nikki.
