Letter: Alberta needs to stop vendetta with the federal government

Reader says Canadian Dental Plan has a place in Alberta
opinion

First the RCMP, then the CPP and now the CDP (Canadian Dental Plan).

As a fourth generation Albertan and a staunch Conservative for 60 years, I think this madness has to stop.

Use these resources to fix our problems in Alberta instead of on this vendetta with the federal government.

When my husband died my income was cut in half but my expenses were not. I was dropped from the Alberta Senior Dental Plan because my income was just over the threshold for a single senior.

In the past four years I have had to pay for dental services I needed but couldn’t really afford.

Since my acceptance to the Canadian Dental Plan I’ve had approximately $2,000 worth of dental work done including removal of an abscessed tooth and a badly broken one.

My dentist’s turn around time for payment was 48 hours after the claim was submitted.

Yes, I had to change dentists to one who accepted the plan but don’t have any regrets.

I support this plan not only because it helped me, but because it is helping many children whose families can’t afford dental insurance.
