Collier County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 65% of residents are fully vaccinated

About 65% of people living in Collier County are fully vaccinated as of Sept. 21, according to data from the Florida Department of Health.

That percentage ranks sixth among all Florida counties. Collier's total of more than 235,000 fully vaccinated residents is 15th highest among all 67 counties.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

Florida reported 3,528,698 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 2% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Florida as of Sept. 21 are Sumter County (80%), Miami-Dade County (71%), St. Johns County (68%), Osceola County (66%) and Sarasota County (65%).
