Sunday Weather Blog

Our beautiful stretch of weather this weekend continues with lower levels of humidity settling in across the state.

Along with low levels of humidity continuing and warm temperatures, we had sun and clouds. We'll see some clearing overnight.

A clearing sky is great news tonight because the Perseid meteor shower peaking tonight into Monday morning.

If you're interested in looking for meteors this evening, wait until after about 11pm when the quarter moon sets. Get away from city or town lights and allow some time for your eyes to adjust.

A nice day is on the way for Monday - sun and clouds will mix for most of the day but a few afternoon/evening showers are possible, as well. The overall rain chance is low but I wouldn't be surprised for a couple of spot showers.

The rest of the week looks great as well. Most of the week will be dry with comfortable temperatures and relatively low levels of humidity. In fact, the next chance for a shower isn't until the weekend!

Tracking the tropics

Tropical depression Five developed in the Atlantic on Sunday afternoon. We are expecting Five to strengthen into "Ernesto" early in the work week as it moves toward the northern Caribbean.
