Increased Fighting on the Israel-Lebanon Border

There are fears of a second full-on war igniting on Israel's northern border. Hezbollah, the group based in Lebanon and backed by Iran, has been trading fire with Israeli forces across the Israel-Lebanon border since Israel's conflict with Hamas began last October. Those exchanges of fire have hit new peaks recently. We hear from two NPR correspondents who each visited a side of that border.

Israel rescues 4 hostages in attacks that kill over 270 Palestinians

The rescue operation is the largest recovery of living hostages since the war in Gaza began. Meanwhile, at least 274 Palestinians were killed and around 700 were wounded, Gaza's Health Ministry said.

Tens of thousands of Israelis marched through the streets of Jerusalem Wednesday June 5, 2024 for ‘Jerusalem day’. The March begins west Jerusalem and travels through east Jerusalem and the muslim quarter often old city, ending in the Jewish quarter at the wailing wall. The March marks the anniversary of the 6 day war in 1967 when Israel annexed east Jerusalem and the western wall.This year, journalists and old city residents were harassed and attacked by marching ultra nationalist youth.
