A “Big Brother” contestant’s stint on the show ended before it could even begin after she tested positive for COVID-19.

Christine Valdiserri won’t be competing on the 23rd season of the CBS reality series, which kicks off Wednesday, she confirmed in a video shared on social media.

“I tested positive for COVID and I have no idea how I got it,” Valdiserri said in the video, which “Big Brother” posted online Monday. “I have the vaccine and I’ve been following all the guidelines up to this point.”

Taking her place on the 23rd season of the series will be New York City engineer Claire Rehfuss, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Valdiserri, a professional dancer, was announced as a competitor on the show’s latest season last week. She said in her video announcement that she does not have any COVID symptoms.

“It’s really frustrating, because I won’t be playing in ‘Big Brother’ this summer,” Valdiserri said in her video.

The series centers on contestants — referred to as “houseguests” — living under the same roof for a month and attempting to avoid being kicked off the show.
