Neil Warnock has been appointed Aberdeen manager on an interim basis until the end of the season.
The 75-year-old takes charge of the 17th club of his managerial career, which began in 1980, having been out of work since leaving Championship side Huddersfield Town last September.
Warnock initially retired in June 2022 after leaving Middlesbrough but returned to the dugout with Huddersfield in February 2023, 28 years after he last coached the West Yorkshire club.

Aberdeen sacked Barry Robson as manager last week, following the 1-1 home draw with Dundee that left them eighth in the Scottish Premiership.
Peter Leven, who was in caretaker charge for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Celtic, will resume his first-team coaching role, while Ronnie Jepson again links up with Warnock as an assistant.
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge here at Aberdeen,” Warnock said.
“I’ve made no secret of the fact I’ve always wanted to manage in Scotland so when I spoke to Dave and Alan and they asked me to help out, it just felt like the right opportunity.
“By all accounts, there is a good group of lads here and it’s my job now to get the best out of them.
“Aberdeen is a big club with clear ambition and I’m hoping that during my time here, the supporters will get behind the team and I can put a smile on their faces.”
Aberdeen say Warnock’s appointment “gives the club time to complete its planned detailed review of the football operation which began at the end of last year and will inform and support the process of selecting and appointing a new management team ahead of season 2024-25”.
Warnock will lead the team for the first time on Tuesday, when they face second-placed Rangers at Ibrox.
