MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins promoted their top major-league-ready prospect, Brooks Lee, and placed infielder Royce Lewis on the injured list with a Grade 2 right adductor strain, the team announced Wednesday.
An infielder at Triple-A St. Paul, Lee is the No. 13 prospect in baseball, according to MLB.com.

Lee, 23, will make his major-league debut Wednesday night against the Detroit Tigers. He’s batting eighth and playing third base for the Twins.
Lee missed the first part of the season with a herniated disc in his back. He’s hit .329/.394/.635 with seven homers and 21 RBIs in 94 plate appearances this year at Triple A.
The Twins moved injured reliever Brock Stewart to the 60-day IL to make space for Lee on the 40-man roster.

Lewis, who exited Tuesday’s game against the Tigers with groin tightness, is out at least through the All-Star break and will be reassessed, Twins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey said.
The Twins star felt the injury running out a go-ahead, two-run double in the third inning of the team’s 21st comeback win and was removed from the game before the start of the sixth inning.
The adductor strain is on the right side, not the left as the Twins initially reported. It is near the spot of the severe right quad strain Lewis suffered on Opening Day, which forced him to miss 58 games.
Since returning to the team on June 4 in New York, Lewis had posted a .984 OPS in 97 plate appearances. On the season, he has batted .292/.354/.685 with 10 home runs and 18 RBIs in 24 games.
