Area Description:

Inshore waters from Matakana Island to Mayor Island to Motiti Island and then east to Torere River mouth.

Situation:

A high to the southeast extends a ridge over the South Island. A low to the east of the North Island pushes a southeast flow over the North Island. A high to the southeast and low to the east recede eastwards on Sunday, as a northeast flow builds over Aotearoa New Zealand ahead of a slow moving front approaching from the Tasman Sea. The front is expected to cross the country on Tuesday.
