6 ARRESTED FOR PROTEST AT ‘SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’

UPDATED:

Police arrested six people who surged toward the stage during a live broadcast of Saturday Night Live. The six were protesting Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone, who was guest host of the NBC show. “We are protesting Hollywood’s homophobia and misogyny as exemplified in the film,” group spokesman James Wagner said Sunday. The protesters didn’t interrupt the show, but their voices could be heard during the opening monologue when Stone mocked a scene from the film, in which she portrays a bisexual murder suspect. NBC guards took away the four men and two women from the stage before police arrived. All were charged with disorderly conduct and harassment. They were being held Sunday pending arraignment, police said.
