Caitlin Clark-Obsessed WNBA Player Is Dating One Of Clark's Teammates, And Fans Are Anxious

Yes, I know. I'm a hypocrite. I say every week that I'm done blogging about the WNBA and Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, because we have plenty of great folks at OutKick who can do that.

And then, every week, I come back to you with my tail between my legs, telling you how this is the last time, I promise!

Look, this probably isn't the last time. I'm just being honest. BUT, at least when I jump into the WNBA circus, it's about the stuff we all really care about – like girlfriends, drama, scandals, etc …

And that's what we have here today with Caitlin Clark and Connecticut Suns player DiJonai Carrington. For those who missed it, Carrington set the internet ablaze yesterday afternoon with a doozy of a tweet that basically said Caitlin Clark is treated differently by fans because she's white.

Now, I don't care about any of that beyond the drama it created. I love drama and #pageviews. Both are hard to come by in July, so I'll take it from anyone and anything at this point. The WNBA seems to have the market cornered on it lately, so I have an obligation to report on it.

And while I think Bobby did an excellent job with his original breakdown of DiJonai Carrington's unhinged post, I do think we collectively buried the lead here:

WNBA player DiJonai Carrington is dating Caitlin Clark's teammate

Maybe I'm late to the WNBA game – I definitely am, along with the rest of the world – but it's just wild to me to read that from an athlete. Nothing wrong with it – as Jerry & George would say – but you just don't get that sort of content in, say, the NFL or MLB.

No, I'm not racist and I don't hate Caitlin Clark! I was just watching for my girlfriend is certainly an excuse you can't use every day. But it's probably par for the course in the WNBA.

Anyway, like I said, America is relatively new to all of this, so we've been playing some catch-up.

DiJonai Carrington and Clark's now-Fever teammate, NaLyssa Smith, were dating while at Baylor a few years back, and it appears they're back together again after some time apart. DiJonai pretty much confirmed that yesterday with that above tweet.

And, just like when Clark's former teammate, Kate Martin, stirred the pot with her girlfriend admission last month, America was quickly enamored with DiJonai and NaLyssa.

I could go on and on. America is nothing if not interested in lesbian WNBA relationships. The fellas in analytics tell me about it every day.

Anyway, I don't know where you stand on this weird Dijonai Carrington-Caitlin Clark beef (not really beef, but you know what I mean), and I don't care. Like I said, I don't care enough about the actual WNBA to care about that sort of drama, especially when it comes to race.

I'm so numb to the race-baiting at this point that it just flies off me like rubber bullets.

But when you inject girlfriend drama into the equation? I'm all in. And so is America.
