Some Guy Named 'Jack Mehoff' Appears On Louisiana Local News

I've done scientific research that confirms 100% that America is a better place when the local news allows a "Jack Mehoff" to comment on a story. 

Let's go to Lafayette, Louisiana where Samantha Loren is beginning her reporting career at KATC (it's somewhere around the 123rd biggest market in the U.S.; in other words, this is where you get paid very little to gain TV experience) and she fell victim to "Jack Mehoff." 

Samantha, whose bio states that she's a native New Yorker,  even got the correct spelling. 

Let me paint a picture for how this type of content gets produced at the local TV level. I have not worked at a local TV station, but I've worked around enough local TV talent and I know enough local TV talent to understand the business. 

Someone in the newsroom came across a story about how webworm numbers are up and they're a nuisance.

BOOM, that story will move the needle, especially in Lafayette. 

Samantha is assigned the story and then it's her job to get some footage, talk to an expert and then find a citizen on the street to localize the story. 

She needs to fill like two minutes. 

Enter "Jack Mehoff" who plays the role perfectly. The name is perfect. The accent is perfect. He even adds a believable story about his cousin Jimbo. 

It's local TV news art. 

As someone who used to mess with the local news, I appreciate when others join in the fun

Then, somewhere around 2015, the local news stations went to a new submission process and my fun was over. 

Now it's time for the Jack Mehoffs of the world to do their thing. The beauty of what went down in Louisiana is that the guy appears to be in his 20s. He might be a Gen Z. This is a great sign for the future of this country. We cannot allow these moments to die out because the blue-haired lesbians tell us we're pigs or that we should grow up. 

Screw them. 

Long live the Jack Mehoffs and the Hugh Johnsons. Our fun will never die.
