Giving The People What They Want: Andy Reid To Appear In Chiefs Hallmark Movie

The Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark mash-up that nobody asked for is happening and now we know a little bit more about the cast, including some of the Chiefs who will be making appearances in the movie titled, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.

Fortunately, they're giving the people what they want, and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will be in the movie.

I mean, that had to happen, right? Ever since we saw Andy Reid in those State Farm commercials where he says " nuggies" we all knew he was Hollywood — or at least Hallmark Channel — material.

I wish the late host of Inside The Actor's Studio and former Parisian pimp (that's true; look it up) James Lipton was still around to interview him.

"Using the term, ‘Nuggies’ is such a fascinating artistic choice. Did that come to you in a moment of divine, dramatic inspiration or were you really just hungry?"

But while Andy Reid is the headliner, some of his players will also join him in the made-for-TV flick. According to NFL.com, guard Trey Smith, wide receiver Mecole Hardman, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and defensive end George Karlaftis will all appear, as well as additional as-yet-unnamed players.

Christine Ebersole, Megyn Price, and Richard Riehle are also part of the cast, as is Diedrich Bader, who we all remember from his incredible performance as Lawrence, the neighbor in one of the greatest comedies ever made, Office Space.

He was great in Napoleon Dynamite and had a great guest spot on The Simpsons as a sheriff in the episode, "Kill the Alligator and Run."

There's going to be a lot of interest in this Hallmark flick, and I mean from people other than your aunt.

That's probably the idea: draw the football crowd into a Hallmark movie and the Hallmark crowd into football.

Whatever the case, we all win when Andy Reid acts.
