John Cena Announces That The Next WrestleMania Will Be His Last, Fans React

John Cena, one of the most iconic WWE performers of all time, has officially announced he’ll be retiring and is having a farewell tour in the near future.

The 16-time WWE champion appeared at the "Money in the Bank" event Saturday, held at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. Naturally, the crowd was ecstatic to see Cena on stage.

But their excitement would quickly turn to dismay when Cena announced that he will be retiring shortly, and that he only has a few events left in his career.

He revealed that he will still partake in Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and be part of Raw as it moves to Netflix in 2025. However, Cena also mentioned that WrestleMania 41 is the last event of its kind that he will appear in…for now.

Tributes poured in on social media as fans wrestled with the fact (no pun intended) that one of the sport’s biggest legends is not going to be in the ring for much longer.

Cena said that his final fight would take place around December 2025, near the end of his farewell tour. However, he said he hopes to stay around WWE in some capacity even though he won't be in the ring anymore.

"I’ve always said to the audience that WWE is my home and I love it," Cena said. "Just because I physically feel I’m at my end, doesn’t mean I need to distance myself from something I love."
