Oversharing Prompts Shutdown of Dell Daughter's Twitter Account

Alexa Dell, the teenage daughter of computer manufacturer founder Michael Dell, had her Twitter account suspended following oversharing, which led to security concerns.

Alexa Dell had fun, fun, fun, until her daddy took the keyboard away.

The teenage daughter of Michael Dell, founder of the computer company of the same name, reportedly had her Twitter privileges revoked after a series of highly detailed tweets.

According to Bloomberg, the girl snapped a photo of her younger brother, Zachary, enjoying a smorgasbord on his family jet, which was on its way to Fiji. The photo was posted to her Twitter feed, where it was picked up and posted to the "Rich Kids of Instagram" Tumblr.

That image has since been deleted, but Alexa's Twitter feed also provided the specifics of her daily whereabouts, including check-ins with GPS data, as well as details from her high school graduation dinner, where Michael Dell and his wife would be in attendance, Bloomberg reported.

Alexa's Twitter feed has since been deleted. Was Michael Dell concerned that the $2.7 million he spends annually on a family security detail wouldn't be of much use in the face of an overzealous, teenage tweeter?

Dell officials declined to comment to Bloomberg on whether the shuttering of Alexa's Twitter account was due to security concerns. But high-profile teens playing with social media could end in disaster, according to McAfee online security expert Robert Siciliano.

"Kids today don't understand the repercussions of posting their whereabouts," he told Forbes.

Michael Dell is no stranger to Twitter. The CEO has his own account, posting company announcements and news articles, but steering clear of personal photos or notes. The executive carries a net worth of $15.9 billion, according to Forbes.
