A police bodycam has captured the moment a Perth man jumped on a trampoline and launched himself over a fence in an attempt to evade arrest.

WA Police made light of the man’s manoeuvre which they joked had “fallen flat”.

“A 38-year-old man’s dreams of making the Olympic gymnastics team have fallen flat during an arrest attempt in Langford this week,” police said.

Officers arrived at the home about 5.30pm on Tuesday with an arrest warrant for the 38-year-old man.

The man allegedly climbed out of a bedroom window, into the backyard where he used a trampoline to try and propel himself over the neighbouring fence.

He was arrested by police a short distance away.

He has been charged with multiple offences including one count of criminal damage over the alleged damage of two fence panels.
