The Oz Lotto, which will draw on Tuesday evening, has a jackpot of $30 million, the highest jackpot since May.

In May 2023, eight golf mates in their 40s took home the $30 million jackpot.

The ticketholder found out while enjoying a roast dinner with his wife.

ā€œI started calling the rest of the group to tell them weā€™d won,ā€ he said.ā€œOne of the guys didnā€™t believe me and returned to eating dinner.ā€œAnother group member told me that if it was a prank, he would come over, and Iā€™d be in a lot of trouble.ā€

West Aussies have been particularly lucky, with a Wanneroo couple taking home a whopping $20 million in the past year.

The couple said they had been playing for the past 35 years and were shocked to discover they had the winning numbers.

ā€œI knew someone from WA had won and I thought to myself ā€˜who was that lucky personā€™?,ā€ they said.

ā€œThe chance to cut back at work is wonderful, but my priority is to give money to charity. We are now in a position to help other people.ā€

Ticket-holders will need seven winning numbers to win division one in the coming Oz Lotto.

The news of the relatively large prize sum comes just after an Atwell couple took home the Saturday Lotto at the start of July.

The couple, who are in their 50s and 60s, is now planning the holiday of a lifetime to Europe.

ā€œLife just got a whole lot easier,ā€ the woman said.

Apart from the holiday, the couple plans to spend their $832,404 winnings by paying off their mortgage and helping their children.

Lotterywest advises buying tickets early to avoid queues and registering your ticket for extra insurance.
