A cooking staple has been recalled from Aldi stores across Australia over concerns of salmonella being detected.

Stonemill 60g sesame is being recalled by Food Standards Australia New Zealand due to salmonella contamination.

The product has been available for sale in Aldi stores in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

The recall affects all date codes on the product.

The food safety authority issued the recall notice over concerns those food products contaminated with salmonella may cause illness if consumed.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” FSANZ warned.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

Consumers are able to return the product to any Aldi store for a full refund.
