This photo is a perfect example of side light because half of her face is lit up revealing the direction of light (which is pointing left to cover he right side). The backround is black and the left side of her face is dark, and shaded.

I also like this kind of light. We can put more details there, like a gun or a pen and piece of paper or laptop or a flower or a rubber duck
