Emma Roberts On Manifesting Her Big Break On Nickelodeon
In Emma Roberts’ new film Space Cadet, her character Tiffany “Rex” Simpson has a huge dream: going to space. While the Florida party girl isn’t the ideal candidate, she has the heart and moxie to succeed.
During the junket for Space Cadet, Roberts revealed her secret to manifesting success in her career. “There are times where something doesn't make sense of why something didn't work out. Then all of a sudden, a year later, you're like, ‘Oh my God, if I had been there, doing that then this wouldn't have happened,’” she told me. “There's a million examples of that through my life. I definitely think that there were certain things that I've manifested.”
One prime example was her big break leading the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous when she was only 13 years old. “The reason I wanted to become an actress as a kid was because I loved watching all the shows on Nickelodeon. All I wanted was my own show on Nickelodeon. I would just say that all the time and that ended up happening,” she shared. “Even my mom was like, ‘You know the odds of that were very, very slim. Like there were thousands of girls going up for that.’”
She continued: “I just remember being so single-minded about it that I think a lot of times drive can get you further sometimes than talent. Just wanting something can get you a little bit further than other things. I always remember that when I'm really working towards something.”
Her trick to manifesting? “Mood board,” she enthused. “I love a mood board.”
