More than three years after its initial announcement, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead has received a proper unveiling that showcases just what's in store for the first video game adaption of the US post-apocalyptic horror movies.
Developed by Italian studio Stormind Games and published by Saber Interactive, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will take place within the same universe as created by John Krasinski.
And just like the films, silence will be key to survival.

No exact release date has been revealed yet, though it's fair to assume it will be closer to the end of the year. The next A Quiet Place film – A Quiet Place: Day One – will arrive on 28th June 2024, so no tie-in looks to be planned either.
A Quiet Place: Part III is planned for 2025 so the game might land somewhere in the middle of both to breach the gap and keep fans occupied.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead consoles and platforms
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is in the works for both console and PC with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam all confirmed.
This means the game is looking to be next-gen only, so anyone on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One won't be able to play the game.

Serving as a spinoff to the movies but still existing within the same universe, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will tell an untold tale of fear and courage as a young survivor tries to endure the nightmare of the apocalypse. Publisher Saber Interactive provided the following details as part of its announcement:
"Experience the journey of a young woman struggling to endure not only the nightmarish creatures of the apocalypse, but also the anguish of interpersonal family conflicts and her own inner fears.
"With nothing more than your wits and the simple tools you can scavenge, you’ll have to overcome the many treacherous challenges and obstacles that lay ahead, all while trying to survive an ever-present threat of the unknown enemies."
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead gameplay
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a first-person single-player horror adventure developed by Stormind Games, which previously worked on Remothered and Bastora.
While little gameplay has been shown off, it looks to transition the silent-like movement of the films into the video game. This is done by slowly walking, carefully opening doors and not stepping on any objects that can create large noises. The main goal is to survive the apocalypse using whatever tools are available, so there's a good chance combat with the monsters will happen at some point.

Yes, the first trailer for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead was uploaded by Saber Interactive on 17th June 2024, three years after the game was said to be in the works.
