Last year’s best new reality TV format, The Traitors, is finally back here in the U.S.
Season two arrives just over a week after the UK’s second season began airing (and hopefully Peacock will gift us with that—and other international seasons—after season two airs).
Alan Cumming is back as host, of course, presiding over faithfuls and traitors who are mostly already reality TV stars, a stark difference from season one’s half-celebrity, half-civilian cast.
Peacock made a last-minute change and is now releasing the first three episodes tonight at 9 p.m. ET.
After that, it’s weekly on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
That’s a schedule I’m absolutely thrilled about. All-at-once shows overwhelm me, and I love that we can all watch together, rather than some of us knowing the winner(s) while others haven’t even started watching.
With that weekly release schedule, I’m going to treat this season like Survivor, recapping episodes individually. New recaps will appear here as they’re published, starting today with the first three. I can’t wait to discuss them with you!
The Traitors US season 2 recaps
The Traitors US 2's treachery begins with two terrific twists
Alan Cumming and The Traitors are back! A recap of The Traitors US season two, episode one, in which Alan chose the traitors and introduced several great twists to the game.
Accusations, blunders, and terrifying scarecrows haunt The Traitors 2 players
On The Traitors US season 2, episode 2, a new traitor was selected, and the first banishment targeted someone who was unfairly targeted—and who then made things much worse for themselves.
The Traitors 2 players dig in graves as a traitor may be digging their own
A recap of The Traitors US season 2, episode three, which sent the players to a graveyard at night, and broke the US version’s trend of all the players voting in one bloc.
Real Housewives accused of acting—with scripts!—as The Traitors fracture
The Traitors US season 2 players participated in an over-the-top funeral procession while accusations against The Real Housewives and alpha men consumed the castle. My recap of episode 4.
Kate is great on The Traitors! Adding her late is absurd.
The incredible Kate Chastain joined The Traitors season two, while Dan kept up his strategy of making himself look as suspicious as possible, and Bachelor Peter actually had a great idea.
Big Brother and Survivor winners were Traitors targets. Did they survive?
On The Traitors US 2 episode 6, a Bachelor targeted a Survivor winner, a Big Brother winner, and a Challenge winner. Did the faithful finally get a traitor? Here’s my recap!
The Traitors US's first truly terrible twist—and episode
The Traitors US season 2 producers jumped in with a twist that stopped strategy and action in its tracks, depriving us the chance of seeing two alliances face off at the roundtable. Ugh.
The Traitors 2 gives us a banishment, shifting alliances, and an ultimatum
Parvati, Peter, Phaedra, and Trishelle were pointing phingers at each other on The Traitors season 2, episode 8. Meanwhile, Dr. Will showed up for absolutely no reason.
The Traitors resurrects a great Survivor challenge and ends with an obnoxious cliffhanger
On The Traitors US 2 episode 9, Peter’s Pals tried to save Peter, and had help from an all-time-great Survivor challenge. Alas, we’ll have to wait a week to find out if it worked.
The Traitors tested Phaedra and Shereé's friendship in a poignant—and phunny—penultimate episode
After The Traitors US 2 made us wait a week to see one vote, we got three banishment in a single episode—and a test of a longtime friendship.
Season 2, ep 2 link is not working. Great recap on ep1 BTW. You do the Lord’s work.
Thanks, Earl! Both recaps are missing now because Peacock decided to wait until 9 p.m. ET to release the episodes, so after briefly publishing them, I unpublished until tonight. Sorry about that!
I guess I know how I’m spending my evening!
I saw this pop up in my DVR schedule on Bravo! Do you know if they’re going to air the entire season?
