Verizon Business has and will continue to invest in business owners in Las Vegas with its amazing resources. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says Nevada is the No. 1 state for job growth in the country, and a big part of that is because of the thriving local businesses. As the center of sports entertainment and hospitality, Las Vegas is booming with opportunity.
D’Andre Douglas, an associate director at Verizon Business, spoke with Jennifer Stehlin, special correspondent for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, about Verizon’s major role with small businesses in the valley.
While Verizon Business is focused on connectivity, its goals incorporate more than phones and tablets.
“Verizon is very committed to the community of Las Vegas and the small businesses that serve that community,” Douglas said. “We have a free online resource called Verizon Small Business Digital Ready. This resource offers things like courses, peer mentorship, and one-on-one coaching that ultimately serves diverse and under-resourced businesses in an attempt to make them more efficient.”
Since not every business fits a one-size-fits-all model, Verizon Business offers a team with boots on the ground who will visit the business to understand its day-to-day interactions and how it interacts with its customers. Using this information, Verizon Business creates customized solutions and ideas for growth.
Tourists and those who live outside of Nevada might not realize that Las Vegas is more than the iconic Strip. Many small businesses are located near and support activities happening on the Strip. It is even more important for those small businesses to stay connected when big events happen. Verizon Business recently made a multiyear investment into Las Vegas, nearly tripling its network capacity and readying it for the influx of tourists and business travelers who come to the city each year.
“Verizon helps us a lot,” said Katherine Garcia of TJs Tacos. “The main way we connect with our customers is through the phone. We rely on our phones when customers call us to plan and coordinate orders. We use social media as a way to contact our customers so we need good service, and Verizon helps us with that.”
