Do we need a wedding coordinator to assist us with our plans?
Given the many logistics of planning and enjoying your special day, we strongly recommend that you select one of the professional wedding coordinators from our referral list to assist you. Your wedding coordinator will:
- Review etiquette and protocol for your ceremony
- Create a timeline for your wedding day
- Recommend vendors for florals, decoration, music, photography, invitations, and much more
- Coordinate rehearsals
- Confirm call times and details with vendors
- Assist with dressing, hair, and makeup
- Be a resource for last-minute requests and details
Your Ritz-Carlton MSE Manager will:
- Provide food & beverage options and arrange a menu tasting if desired
- Create banquet event orders confirming the services being provided by the hotel
- Act as liaison between your wedding coordinator and the hotel operations staff
- Review estimated costs in advance of your wedding and the final bill for completeness of detail

Can we take wedding pictures at the hotel if we are not hosting our reception at The Ritz-Carlton?
Our most popular backdrops for wedding photos (The Rose Garden and Veranda) are private areas reserved for our couples getting married in the hotel. We also do not allow wedding photographs to be taken in any area that might obstruct the flow or ambiance of our other guests (the Lobby area, Lounge, or Restaurant). If you book overnight accommodations in the hotel, you are welcome to take photos in your guest room or on the Marina Promenade behind the hotel.
Can we book just our ceremony, and not our reception, at The Ritz-Carlton?
Ceremony locations are reserved exclusively for couples hosting their receptions at the hotel. Please contact the hotel’s catering sales team if you would to inquire about ceremony options.
Are there certain specific times for hosting your wedding ceremony and reception?
Although we do not have "set" start and end times, we do book wedding ceremonies and receptions in five-to-six-hour increments between the following times: Daytime events may be scheduled between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Evening events may be scheduled between 5 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.
Is there a room rental when we book our wedding?
A ceremony rental applies to all ceremony venues and includes setup, microphone, sound system, and a dedicated sound technician. A food and beverage minimum applies to all reception venues based on the day of the week and season.
Are we permitted to provide our own food and beverage at the hotel?
It is our policy that all food and alcoholic beverages must be provided by the resort. However, the hotel will evaluate the requests for ethnic outside catering on a case-by-case basis. The sale and service of alcoholic beverages are regulated by the California State Liquor Commission, and The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey is responsible for the administration of those regulations. It is our policy that all alcoholic beverages must be provided by the resort.
