Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle, infamous for preying on minors, continues to serve his sentence at the federal prison in FCI Englewood, just outside Littleton, Colorado. Currently 46 years old, Fogle confessed to soliciting a minor for sex and possessing a cache of child pornography, leading to his imprisonment in 2016.

Upon his arrival at the facility, Fogle was assigned to kitchen duty, churning out meals for fellow inmates. Ex-inmate Pat Gannon recalls the irony of “the Subway guy handing out grilled cheeses,” a source of amusement among prisoners.

Despite dabbling in various roles like janitorial and groundskeeping tasks over the past few years, Fogle has now circled back to his kitchen gig. As per FCI Englewood’s rules, breakfast starts at 6:00 a.m., with lunch and dinner following.

Fogle rose to fame as the face of Subway’s weight loss campaign, shedding 245 pounds by subsisting largely on their sandwiches. However, his empire crumbled in 2015 when allegations of sexual exploitation surfaced, leading to a spate of child pornography discoveries and criminal charges. Prosecutors revealed his disturbing habit of seeking escorts to introduce him to minors as young as 14 or 15 years old.

Having pleaded guilty to child pornography and engaging in sex with a minor in 2015, Fogle received a lengthy prison sentence of 15 years and 8 months. In a handwritten letter from 2021 obtained by the Post, Fogle took accountability for his actions, admitting he had “screwed up royally” and expressing a desire to reform upon his eventual release.

Now serving time without his high-profile legal team, Fogle exists on a meager commissary budget of less than $300 monthly, engaging in activities like watching TV, corresponding with others, and using the prison’s messaging system.

Despite repeated attempts at sentence reduction, Fogle faces the harsh reality of serving at least 85% of his term. His potential release date lies on March 24, 2029, with the lifelong imposition of registering as a sex offender.
