Vanna White has been in the spotlight for 41 years, but she’s been making headlines now more than ever in her career. After negotiating a lucrative new contract that keeps her on Wheel of Fortune from co-host Pat Sajak’s exit through Ryan Seacrest’s arrival, the 66-year-old TV personality is talking about aging in the public eye.
While describing her wrinkles as “beautiful,” White also knows her appearance is an important part of her job. “I don’t look like this without all this makeup,” she explained to People. “But you know what? I am older and I accept my lines and wrinkles.” That doesn’t mean she hasn’t given some thought about going under the knife from time to time.
“Will I ever have plastic surgery? Maybe,” White revealed. “But I’m kind of scared to do that. I’m not trying to look 30 years old again because I’m not.” That refreshingly honest answer feels so real because she probably does feel the beauty pressure in Hollywood from time to time while also acknowledging her fears and true desires. The game-show co-host has no problem embracing this season of life. “Someone who is completely with no lines, they don’t have any character. Be natural, be yourself and have personality,” she added.
The makeup industry is also clamoring to work with her because they recognize her long-running appeal and stunning beauty. Laura Geller has partnered up with her for the Laura Geller Beauty x Wheel of Fortune limited-edition makeup line that is inspired by the long-running game show. Geller has been generating massive buzz for working with successful women over the age of 40, including Paulina Porizkova and Fran Drescher. It’s an ideal fit for White whose beauty philosophy is all about taking care of herself from the inside out. “As I’m getting older, I want to take care of my skin,” she summed up. “I want to look the best I can.”
