With summer finally here, we’re guessing so many of you are looking for good book recommendations to add to your TBR list. After all, there’s nothing quite like reading a good book while tanning on the beach.

So, answering all those demands, Reese Witherspoon just announced her June book club pick: The Unwedding by Ally Condie. In her announcement on Instagram, The Morning Show star shared a new collaboration too.

“How are your reading goals going?? 👀 Sharing a little tip from my own playbook: audiobooks on @applebooks have been a game-changer for me in reaching my reading goals. 🎧📖💕” Witherspoon wrote in the caption.

“So, I’m very excited to announce that Apple Books is now our official audio home for Reese’s Book Club!” she added. “Our June @reesesbookclub pick is the perfect summer listen!!!”

In the video, Witherspoon is seen reading Condie’s book at home before realizing she needs to meet her mom, Betty. Then, in one fell swoop, Witherspoon takes out her phone and resumes her reading in Apple Books’ audiobook.

In the rest of the caption, Witherspoon detailed what The Unwedding is all about. “#TheUnwedding by @AllyCondieBooks opens with a wedding at a gorgeous resort in Big Sur… but everything begins to fall apart when the main character Ellery discovers a dead body the morning of the ceremony. 😱” she added.

In the official description, we learn that the book’s main character is Ellery Wainwright, a recent divorcee who’s traveling to Big Sur on what would’ve been her twentieth wedding anniversary trip with her ex-husband.

“To add insult to injury, there’s a wedding at Broken Point scheduled during her stay,” the description reads. “Ellery remembers how it felt to be on the cusp of everything new and wonderful, with a loved and certain future glimmering just ahead. Now, she isn’t certain of anything except for her love for her kids and her growing realization that this place, though beautiful, is unsettling.”

The unsettling feeling then gets confirmed when she “discovers the body of the groom floating in the pool.”

“Before the police can reach Broken Point, a mudslide takes out the road to the resort, leaving the guests trapped,” the description adds. “When another guest dies, it’s clear something horrible is brewing.”

In the reviews, readers are raving about the just-released novel. “Condie’s writing is effortless and beautiful. Her characters feel so real. They are funny, interesting, and flawed,” one reviewer writes. “They are capable of the best and worst of humanity. The perspective of a newly divorced woman is unique. Condie implements this dynamic well. A page-turner until the very end!”

“This book was great. I admit, I read it within 24 hours. I loved the descriptions of the location. I enjoyed the development of Ellery’s character and the portrait of the other resort guests,” wrote another reviewer. “I didn’t know anything about the story before I cracked it open and I absolutely loved the story slowly unfolding before me.”

With such rave reviews and a recommendation from Witherspoon herself, this book is making its way to our shopping carts ASAP!
