Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner Are Making This Curious Move Instead of Joining Donald Trump’s Campaign

Ivanka Trump has already shared that she’s never, ever going back to politics. She and her husband, Jared Kushner, retired in January 2021 after the end of Donald Trump‘s administration, and they have no regrets. Instead, they are building their socialite images back and getting into the luxury real estate game again.

Ivanka revealed her plans during an interview with Lex Fridman, noting, “Right now I’m working with my husband. We have this 1,400-acre island in the Mediterranean, and we’re bringing in the best architects and the best brands.” She sounds like her dad with her extra superlatives about the project, but Ivanka seems excited by what they are putting together in Albania.

“Aman’s going to operate the hotel for us, and they’re going to be villas, and we have Carbone who’s going to be doing the food and beverage,” she continued. “But it’s amazing to bring together all of this talent. And for me to be able to play around and flex the real estate muscles again and have some fun with it.” Ivanka stepped back from the Trump Organization in March 2017 ahead of joining Donald Trump’s White House staff, so it’s been a while since she’s been in the real estate game.

She and Kushner moved to Miami after their stint in Washington, D.C., and slowly dove back into the socialite world after being shunned by their former New York City community. In November 2022, Ivanka officially bowed out of Donald Trump’s third presidential run with a simple statement. “I love my father very much,” she wrote. “This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.”

Their three kids, Arabella, 12, Joseph, 10, and Theodore, 8, were at the forefront of their minds when they made that decision. “I think you have to either be all in or all out,” Ivanka told Fridman. “And I know today the cost [my kids] would pay for me being all in, emotionally, in terms of my absence at such a formative point in their life.” So, Ivanka’s political chapter is officially closed as she revisits her real estate mogul days.
