Ellen DeGeneres isn’t done collecting homes in the Montecito, California area. She enjoys the company of A-list celebrities who live in the neighborhood, like Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Rob Lowe, and her latest home might be her most unique purchase yet. This fourth property is called Villa Tragara, and the talk show host got it for quite the bargain price. Originally on sale for $35 million, she purchased it for $21 million — the deal likely happened because the property only has three bedrooms for such a large estate.
Don’t misinterpret the lack of bedrooms for a lack of space — the villa has 11,947 square feet, much of that is generously divided up into sitting rooms and office space. The real beauty of the property comes with the 2.4. acres of gorgeously manicured grounds that make it feel more like a European mansion instead of a Southern California home. It has amenities like a pickleball court, a bocce ball court, a koi pond, a tennis court and a heated pool that cost $400,000 to install.
Villa Tragara is also an entertainer’s home, so DeGeneres, and wife Portia de Rossi, can host dinner parties from the 16-seat outdoor dining area or utilize one of the massive living and family rooms for an event. It’s an unbelievable home for the real estate collector, who probably is dying to get her hands on renovating that kitchen. Don’t miss this distinctive home and check out more photos at Dirt.
