Backcountry
Directed by Adam McDonalad
An urban couple go camping in the Canadian wilderness - where unimaginable beauty sits alongside our most primal fears. Alex is a seasoned outdoorsman while Jenn, a corporate lawyer, is not. After much convincing, and against her better judgment, she agrees to let him take her deep into a Provincial Park to one of his favorite spots - the secluded Blackfoot Trail.
An urban couple go camping in the woods and find themselves lost in the territory of a predatory black bear.
Cast: Jeff Roop, Missy Peregrym, Nicholas Campbell, Eric Balfour

Lots of dumb mistakes were made
This is a bear vs hikers flick with precious little bear scenes. A real letdown after some sterling reviews. See “Cocaine Bear” for a better time if you want bears.
So, it might be a black bear, but they are actually dangerous to a point. They are the least dangerous type of bear, but a bear nevertheless. The story this was based off of was a black bear attack, and the lady actually didn't make it. Her Husband fought it off with a knife, (Ballsy but I would have tried too) and she only died of her wounds while he was trying to get her to safety. This movie kinda does the guy dirty, makes him into a jerk. The 'fake Irish accent guy' is also a jerk. A lot of unnecessary posturing from both of them. It was fun enough to watch and pick apart with my wife, but I wouldn't give it a second watch.
If Grizzly didn't exist this would be humanity's greatest cultural achievement. As things stand it's a close second.
