The tension and atmosphere were great, but it seemed like there were a few missed opportunities and plot oddities. Wasn't expecting much going in but it was a really good movie.

It is hard to understand. It was hard to see what is going on. If you can understand what is happening, more power to you !
Outside of the weird and confusing ending, this movie, love it or hate it, has one of THE most unsettling atmospheres in a horror film. I'm not kidding when I saw that the way the movie was presented, set up and executed with the atmosphere made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and felt like someone was actually watching me in my house as it continued, and that's an extremely rare thing for me to feel in horror movies these days. I truly recommend this movie for the atmosphere alone, because it can truly frighten you without the need of jump scares. The story and acting is just fine too, but without giving any spoilers, the ending is...just not what you'd expect. It won't ruin the whole movie for you, thankfully, but it's one of those horror endings that feel so out of nowhere (think of typical Magnet or IFC midnight endings) that you're not sure at all what to make of it.
