Beautifully-shot. Very '70s. Lush, great color grading, well-directed. Interesting script, if not the most original. More a sort of Gothic Mystery than Horror, but lovely to watch.
I loved the movie! Seeing Jennifer O’Neil again brought me back to the 70’s when I was growing up.
A very underrated Fulci flick.
This was a surprisingly nice way to spend my evening - Not what I've come to expect from Fulci (Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good handful of his filmography). What I mean is that, aside from the premonitions, it's surprisingly grounded, easy to follow, realistic and logical. A great mystery/psychological thriller with what would have been a stellar twist and warranted 5 skulls, had Shudder not completely shit the bed and given it away in their description. For fans of Hitchcock, Bava, and noir whodunnits in general.
More of a slow burn gothic 70s horror than a giallo, but really enjoyed this.
