In 1979, Scotty (Kin Shriner) and Laura (Genie Francis) tied the knot on General Hospital. It hadn't been an easy path to the altar for the young duo, with obstacles including Bobbie's dogged efforts to split them up and her stepfather, Rick's, strong objections to teenaged Laura marrying Scott. They exchanged vows in the park, with the bride telling her groom, “In being your partner for life, I will be fulfilled."

In 1998, Mike (Roark Critchlow) and Carrie (Christie Clark) shared their first kiss on Days of Our Lives. This was, of course, more than a little problematic, given that she was married to Austin.

In 1999, John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) married on Days of Our Lives, well after a decade following their first "I do's," which occurred while they were both under the impression that John was Roman. The long-awaited ceremony took place at the Penthouse Grill, with her twins, Sami and Eric, serving as the maid of honor and best man; his son, Brady, was the ring bearer; and their daughter, Belle, was the flower girl.

in 2017, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) got engaged on Days of Our Lives. When he pulled out the engagement ring, he could tell from Hope's reaction that she wasn't going to accept. "Not exactly how I pictured this moment," he muttered as he rose to his feet. They parted ways, but after some soul-searching, Hope summoned Rafe back and asked him to marry her. He then proposed again and slipped the ring onto her finger.
