On Thursday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT, podcaster Alan Locher will be joined by several friends and former co-stars of Marj Dusay, the beloved actress who portrayed such memorable characters as Alexandra Spaulding on “Guiding Light” and Vanessa Bennett on “All My Children,” among others, for a special tribute episode of “The Locher Room” dedicated in her honor.

Actors Vincent Irizarry, Ron Raines and Nicholas Walker, each of whom played a family member of one of Dusay’s characters throughout her daytime drama career, are set to appear on the live show.

On “All My Children,” Irizarry portrayed David Hayward, the eldest child of Dusay’s scene-stealing character. He played a similar capacity on “Guiding Light,” where he appeared as Alexandra’s twin boys, Brandon “Lujack” Luvonaczek and Nick McHenry-Spaulding. On the CBS soap, Raines portrayed Alan Spaulding, Alexandra’s brother.

Dusay made her foray into daytime television when she took over the role of Myrna Clegg on “Capitol” in April 1983, replacing actress Carolyn Jones. Remaining with the show until its final episode in March 1987, Dusay character was the mother of Walker’s character Trey, a presidential hopeful who made his rivals feel uneasy at every turn.

Born Marjorie Ellen Pivonka Mahoney on February 20, 1936, in  Hays, Kansas, Dusay was the second eldest of six children. While married to her first husband, John Murray Dusay, from 1956-1965, the couple had two children. By 1972, Dusay would marry her second husband, Thomas Allen Perine Jr., with the couple remaining together until Perine passed away in May 1987. Dusay died on January 28, 2020 at the age of 83 in New York.

In addition to “All My Children,” “Capitol” and “Guiding Light,” Dusay also had roles on soap operas such as “Dallas,” “Santa Barbara” and “Days of our Lives.” Outside of daytime, Dusay has appeared in both film and primetime television, including “Star Trek,” “Bonanza,” “Hawaii Five-O,” “The Odd Couple” and “The Facts of Life,” just to name a few.

Fans of Dusay’s work can look forward to numerous behind-the-scenes stories, hilarious anecdotes, and a touching look at Marj’s life and legacy when they enter “The Locher Room” on Thursday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT by clicking here or on the play button below (when available).
