Good news, Oklahoma! After being passed over for years, the Sooner State might finally get its first Buc-ee’s.

While there is no information about timing or location, Buc-ee's General Counsel Jeff Nadalo recently told KHOU that the chain has its sights set on Oklahoma for future outposts of the roadside oasis.

While ramping up its expansion throughout the South in recent years, the Texas-based chain appeared reluctant to cross the border into Oklahoma—a sore subject for Buc-ee’s fans there. But Nadalo has us feeling hopeful that’s no longer the case, even if we don’t have much to go on right now.

There are currently 62 Buc-ee’s locations in the U.S., with the majority concentrated in the travel center’s home state of Texas. The company recently expanded to Colorado and Missouri and has plans to open stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Arizona.

The country’s largest Buc-ee’s travel center opened its doors in Luling, Texas, on June 10, 2024. The new 75,000 square-foot center replaced the city’s previous Buc-ee’s store, which was the first Buc-ee’s travel center built in 2003.

This is a developing story.
