Tennessee had a good run, but the honor of boasting the biggest Buc-ee’s will soon return home to Texas.
The country’s largest Buc-ee’s travel center will open its doors in Luling on June 10, 2024. The new 75,000 square-foot center will replace the city’s current Buc-ee’s store, which was the first Buc-ee’s travel center built in 2003.
It will also be the 50th Buc-ee’s across Texas and the South.
Located at 10070 I-10, the new and improved Buc-ee's in Luling will offer 120 fuel stations, squeaky clean bathrooms, and everything else the roadside oasis is known for: barbecue sandwiches, beef jerky, homemade fudge, and of course, Beaver Nuggets.
For those keeping score, the Luling location bests the 74,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s in Sevierville, Tennessee, by a whopping 1,000 square feet.
“We are thrilled to open the doors to the world’s largest Buc-ee’s travel center right here in the Great State of Texas,” Stan Beard of Buc-ee’s said in a statement. “It’s particularly exciting, considering this is the Buc-ee’s that started it all, so we are really looking forward to celebrating with the incredible people of Luling.”
Doors open at 6 a.m. on June 10. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at noon.
