Yunchan Lim in Recital: Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky & Mussorgsky

Ever since winning the Van Cliburn competition in 2022, aged just 18, Korean pianist Yunchan Lim has been one of the hottest properties on the international concert stage. And now the young pianist presents a recital from the stage of the Verbier Festival. He begins with two Songs Without Words by Mendelssohn, before performing two large-scale cycles by Russian composers: Tchaikovsky's The Seasons comprises brief musical portraits of each month of the year, while Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition responds to eleven paintings, captured in sound with brilliant vividness by the composer. All in all, a programme guaranteed to showcase this young pianist's virtuosity, sensitivity and musical imagination.
