Season 4 of On My Block is officially just around the corner. After months of anticipation, on September 20, Netflix finally announced the season's release date alongside the first full-length trailer.

On My Block first premiered on Netflix in 2018. After three successful seasons and multiple adventures, the streamer finally revealed the series had been renewed for a fourth and final season in January 2021 with the release of the very first teaser. Equal parts comedy and drama, the coming-of-age series follows the story of Freeridge teens César (Diego Tinoco), Monse (Sierra Capri), Ruby (Jason Genao), and Jamal (Brett Gray) as they navigate life in the South Central neighborhood, friendship, love, and everything in between – including heists.

Season 4 is described as the group’s “last adventure” and will pick up where we left off. In case you need a refresher — and spoiler alert — Season 3 ended after Monse left Freeridge and made everyone promise “nothing is gonna change” — which, of course, is precisely what happened next. The series closed out the season with a two-year time jump, showing a more than distant core four. (A quick rundown: Monse is happy with her new friends at her new private boarding school; Jamal has become a popular guy at school; Ruby and Jasmine (Jessica Marie Garcia) are everyone's OTP; and César is now a full-fledged Santos).

The new one-minute trailer shows pre-time jump Cesar and Monse having a one-to-one about life and destiny, with Cesar opening up about his relationship with the Santos. The next few scenes give us a peek into the future of our core four and their families: we see how Ruby and Jasmine are advancing their relationship, how Abuelita is still as bad*ss as can be, and even get to see what looks like Oscar’s (aka. Spooky, played by Julio Macias) future as a dad. The trailer also teases reencounters galore — and you can picture us excited. “Season 4 finds our friends two years later, having gone their separate ways. When a secret is unburied, they quickly learn you can’t run from the past and they will need to stick together to survive,” the season’s synopsis reads.

The fourth and final season of On My Block will premiere globally on Netflix on October 4, 2021. According to Netflix, the new season will have 10 episodes. Watch the trailer below:
