Fans of Stranger Things found plenty of things to love about the Netflix series in its second season. From the unexpected friendships that blossomed between characters to the arrival of some new Hawkins residents, there was no shortage of memorable moments. And as the series prepares to return there's good news for one of the Stranger Things siblings.
In season two we were introduced to Lucas Sinclair's younger sister Erica, played by Priah Ferguson. The actor stole the show with her witty one-liners and no nonsense attitude, and according to E! News her character is making a comeback.
The upcoming third season will reportedly feature more of Erica, Netflix confirmed in a press release. "No longer content with sitting on the sidelines, Erica finds herself on a wild mission to save Hawkins from a dangerous and unexpected new threat," the statement read. The streaming service went on to share that her character will be joined by some new friends, but no further information on their roles was revealed.
Erica won't be the only new hero on the block. Netflix also announced that Maya Hawke, Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke's daughter, is joining the cast as a character named Robin. She's described as "an alternative girl who is equal parts sharp and playful. Bored with her mundane day job, she just wants a little excitement in her life... and gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a dark secret in Hawkins."
USA Today reports that a premiere date for the upcoming season has not yet been announced, but the addition of new characters has social media excited. "Erica having a more prominent role in season 3 of Stranger Things is what we deserve," one Twitter user wrote. Others shared their hope that Erica might even befriend some of the current characters.
