"Stranger Things" Season 3 Star Maya Hawke Is a Doppelgänger of Famous Parents Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke

There are plenty of reasons to love Maya Hawke, the newest addition to the Stranger Things cast. As her character, Robin, in Season 3, Maya gets to sling ice cream at Starcourt Mall, decode secret Russian messages, and help save the day. Who wouldn't love to play a character like that?

But while folks are all about Robin, they can't handle — in the best way possible — that Maya is basically the perfect combination of her A-list parents, actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.

A little backstory: Uma and Ethan were a major celeb couple in the late '90s and early '00s. They met on the set of their 1997 film Gattaca and were married in 1998. Maya came along in July 1998, two months after the couple married in May. Although Uma and Ethan divorced in 2005, Maya is obviously still close with her parents. Heck, proud dad Ethan spent his July 4th weekend hyping Maya's Stranger Things performance on his Instagram.

But it's not just the bonds that are strong between Maya and her parents; the resemblance is strong, too. Stranger Things fans spent the weekend bingeing the series and simultaneously sending tweets about how much Maya looks and acts like her parents. As they noted, there are moments when Maya looks and acts just like Uma in Stranger Things.

If you wanna do a comparison, I recommend skipping to Episode 7 "The Bite" and watching Robin and Steve Harrington's bathroom scene because the Uma vibes are strong. At other times in the show, Maya is all Ethan, like every time Robin hits Steve with a shady remark. Not to mention that fact that looking at Maya is like trying to answer if the dress is blue or gold: squint and tilt your head to the left and it's one parent or tilt your head to the right and it's the other parent. The doppelgänger vibes are real.
