Purdue (1) vs Gonzaga (5) betting preview
Purdue was an absolute juggernaut in the Round of 32, crushing Utah State 106-67. This was their most points scored in a NCAA Tournament game. Zach Edey led the way with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while three others scored double-digit points. Trey Kaufman-Renn had 18 points and eight rebounds. The Boilermakers shot 55.9% from the floor and 47.8% from beyond the arch.
Gonzaga also had a relatively easy matchup in the Round of 32, defeating a Kevin McCullar-less Kansas Jayhawks squad 89-68. Five players scored double-digit points, led by Anton Watson, who had 21 points and six boards. Nolan Hickman had 17, Ben Gregg and Graham Ike had 15, and Braden Huf had 11. Ike and Gregg also had nine rebounds each. The Bulldogs shot 60.3% from the field and 53.3% from three-point range on 15 attempts.

Purdue vs Gonzaga analysis
Gonzaga and Purdue played eachother back on November 20 and Purdue came away with the win, 73-63. Edey had 25 points and 14 rebounds in that game.
Looking at per-game averages, Purdue and Gonzaga average the same exact points per game at 83.9, both in the top-10 of shooting percentage, but Purdue is tied for the best three-point shooting percentage at 40.9% while Gonzaga is at 36.3%.
Looking back at the first meeting, Gonzaga made just six threes. While we expect them to perform better here, we can’t ignore that no one on Gonzaga that’ll match up with Edey is quite seven feet tall.
Outside of Edey, Purdue has some excellent complimentary pieces from Lance Jones, Kaufman-Renn, and the company.
For Gonzaga, guard Ryan Nembhard may not be the best shooter, but he plays his position extremely well. He had 12 assists against Kansas.

The Boilermakers have been to just one Elite Eight since 2000, and they’ll get it done again here. Edey is simply too unstoppable, and there’s no one here to challenge him. Gonzaga will need to find ways to get him away from the basket for a chance, but Purdue is also an excellent shooting team. Gonzaga has turned it up from three-point range recently, but getting a shot near the basket could prove difficult.
Gonzaga plays excellent complimentary basketball, but halting Edey will prove too difficult, especially with Nembhard’s scoring deficiency.
