AN herbal tea visibly improved one woman’s hair and skin when she began to drink it routinely. 

She revealed that she buys the miraculous tea in bulk and uses a special method to make it.

She raved about the tea in a post on Reddit’s Beauty forum, which has over 929,000 members.

The beauty elixir was revealed in a forum for secrets beauty secrets.

For her, the key was nettle infusions.

“I drink them by the pint," she admitted.

“It cleared up my skin, my hair got thicker, my nails got healthier, and I just feel better.”

Starwest Botanicals on Amazon is her favorite place to buy nettles in bulk.

She said urtica dioica, commonly known as stinging nettles, tastes “very much like green tea.”

She uses a “heaping tablespoon per cup of cold or hot water,” when drinking the tea.

However, they have to be prepared hours in advance.

“Cold water: Let steep for at least 12 hours in the fridge (I make it by the 1/2 gallon) and strain it out,” she said.

“Hot water: Let it sit until lukewarm, or you can put it in the fridge and steep it overnight like with cold water.”

Though stinging nettles can be painful to the touch, scalding them in boiling hot water will deaden the sting.

Nettles are also used in several different ways in medicine, including to treat muscle and joint pain, eczema, arthritis, gout, and anemia, according to Mout Sinai.

Many people upvoted the post and said they wanted to try the tea to improve their own appearance.

The woman replied to a commenter suggesting that the tea may also help to slow the signs of aging on the skin.

“I found an overall reduction in redness, but nettles are also full of the nutrients that help repair sun damage,” she said.

“I can imagine they’d be beneficial to fight aging.”
