A FAN-FAVORITE Grey's Anatomy actor is returning to the series - just as many avid viewers guessed he would.
The actor's return to Grey's Anatomy coincides with the end of the show's spin-off series, Station 19.
Jason George, 52, has closed a deal to rejoin the main cast of the ABC medical drama for the upcoming 21st season, per Deadline.
George played Dr. Ben Warren on Grey's Anatomy before helping launch the spin-off series Station 19 in 2018.
He first appeared in the long-running medical drama during its sixth season before joining the main cast from Season 12 to 14.
Over the past seven seasons, George appeared as a series regular on the Seattle-set firefighter drama while also making frequent guest appearances on the mother series, both produced by Shondaland and ABC Signature.

The Station 19 main cast included Grey’s Anatomy transplant Stefania Spampinato, who reprised her role as Carina DeLuca.
There are no current plans for her character to return to Grey's Anatomy.
George has been a part of the Shondaland family for more than two decades - in addition to his runs on Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19, the actor was also a regular on the company’s 2011 medical drama Off The Map.
George's return comes as Grey's Anatomy prepares to bid farewell to series regulars, Jake Borelli and Midori Francis - who will wrap their characters’ arcs this fall.

His character, Ben Warren, ended the seventh and final season of Station 19 by setting up a return to Grey's Anatomy as during the series finale he told his captain, Andy Herrera, played by Jaina Lee Ortiz, that he'd be going back to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to finish his surgical residency.
The mother series had left the door open for Ben's return as in 2017, as a fifth-year resident at Grey Sloan, he found a way to pursue a dream second career as a firefighter without jeopardizing his chances at returning to complete his residency should he choose to do so.
Ben had a deeper connection to Grey Sloan through his marriage to Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson, which was revisited with one last crossover in the Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 finale.
Fans seemed to see Georg's announcement coming with many predicting he'd return to the drama series after Station 19's cancelation.
"It was expected to happen, considering he's still married to Miranda," wrote one fan on X.
"Yea I figured he’ll be back," tweeted another.
"LMAOOOO i knew this was gon happen. Jason George keeps him a job!!!" commented a third.
SERIES FINALE
Last month, Station 19 aired its series finale after it was canceled in December.
The finale, and much of the final season, did a lot to set up George's return to Grey's - as his character had been using his medical background more throughout the season even before he revealed he was ready to head back to the operating room.
Around the time of the final episode, a source told Deadline that "there is no deal in place and the exact capacity in which Jason would return to Grey’s Anatomy is unclear but talks are ongoing."
"The intent is to have him back full-time on the show."
After the finale, the showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige expressed that they would like to continue with Station 19 because they have a lot more stories to tell.
They spoke with People about a way to possibly save the show.
"I think we'd happily go back into these waters," Peter said after being asked about a possible pickup.
"There was one moment when it felt like there was a realistic possibility someone was going to come step in, and then that went away. Then it felt like, 'Okay, we need to honor what is here to be honored.'"
However, he shared that if someone comes to her and says they want to revamp the show, he and Zoanne would "figure out a way."
STATION 19
ABC canceled Station 19 after seven seasons.
The series was based on the lives of those at the Seattle Fire Station 19.
