Resident Alien fans rejoice as show is ‘saved’ by another network for Season 4 while Chucky’s fate remains up in the air

Fans didn't hide their excitement after Resident Alien's executive producer confirmed how many new episodes were coming

RESIDENT Alien has found a new home and secured its fourth season.

The comedy show's third season came to an end in April, and fans were previously left in the dark about its future.

Resident Alien first came out in 2021, and focuses on the character Harry Vanderspeigle, played by film star Alan Tudyk.

Medical examiner Harry is in fact an undercover alien sent to Earth to kill all humans.

As the three seasons progressed, Harry lost faith in his mission as he started to bond with his host family in Colorado.

Fans loved the quirky plot line, and were left very concerned when Syfy announced last month that it was unlikely to renew Resident Alien.

Now, however, good news has come from USA Network.

The NBCUniversal network has picked up the show from Syfy, and has already confirmed a fourth season, according to Deadline.

While the outlet reported that the show would have a "significant budget reduction" in its new home, fans were still overjoyed by the news.

'SO HAPPY'

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Resident Alien executive producer Chris Sheridan thanked fans for their support during the murky time.

"Thrilled to announce that Resident Alien has been picked up for a new season! We are shifting over to USA Network for a 10 episode Season 4! Thank you for your patience and for being the best fans in the world," the showrunner wrote.

"That's fantastic!" one excited fan wrote in response.

Chucky is based on the infamous horror doll, and is shared by USA Network and Syfy.

Much like Resident Alien, the future of the show was left unclear after three seasons.

"It makes me sad and nervous that both #ResidentAlien and #Chucky seem to be in trouble. I’m gonna need both of them renewed asap, plz," one person begged on X before the news of Resident Alien's renewal.

At present, fans fear that Chucky might not be picked up for Season 4.
