Unfortunately for Jessica, 43, many fans immediately took to social media to blast the film.

In Trigger Warning, Jessica plays a Special Forces commando who returns to her hometown after the death of her father.

After taking over her father's bar, she deals with a local gang while trying to figure out how her dad truly died.

However, fans weren't impressed by the plot or script, and criticized Trigger Warning on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Wow, Jessica Alba stars in the worst movie Lifetime forgot to make. Trigger Warning was dreadful," one person snarked.

"This Jessica Alba movie is so bad. Just can’t keep me interested and it’s way too predictable," said a second.

"That movie on Netflix with Jessica Alba is a terrible movie," said a third.

"Some of the acting is horrible in Jessica Alba’s new movie Trigger Warning. The action is a bit exaggerated and some of it unexplainable. The storyline seems typical and some parts downright boring," a third judged.

"Nah, this movie is really, really bad. Jessica Alba is fine though my goodness," another fan added.

"I love me some Jessica Alba but that Trigger Warning movie was trash," a commenter claimed.

BUSINESS BUST

Trigger Warning is Jessica's first film in five years, after she previously stepped back from acting to focus on her business.

However, the star's wellness company, The Honest Company, recently suffered a major loss.

Jessica co-founded the business in 2011, and it was valued at $1.7 billion when it went public in 2021.

Most recently, its valuation has shrunk down to $228 million.

Now, looking back, Jessica probably could have made the same kind of money she made from The Honest Company devoting herself full time to acting, especially if she found her way into some big hits.

Likewise, Jessica's personal fortune has shrunk from $340 million in 2016 to $100 million now, after she was tapped to become a billionaire through her business.

One insider close to the celebrity suggested that Jessica's choice to move away from acting might not have been wise.

“It's a tough situation because even though Jessica’s still got enough money to live well for the rest of her life, four or five years ago people were bracing for her to become a billionaire from this company, and generally blown away with the business savvy she displayed growing it.

“Now, looking back, Jessica probably could have made the same kind of money she made from The Honest Company devoting herself full time to acting, especially if she found her way into some big hits," they shared.
