HELLBOY: The Crooked Man trailer has just dropped and fans are unimpressed.
The superhero horror film is a reboot of the Hellboy film series.

The trailer opens with scenic views of trees, mountains, and forests in Appalachia.
A voiceover of Hellboy, played by Jack Kesy, plays over the video that says something in the hills "smells like death."
Creepy footage, such as a woman being levitated in the air who was bitten by snakes, and figures standing in the woods, follows.
Bugs and other unseemly creatures appear in the trailer.

Another woman can be heard saying, "All of your friends. They're all gonna die."
The movie is based on the comic books of the same name by Mike Mignola and artist Richard Corben.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man is set in the 1950s and follows the hero and Adeline Rudolph as they try to protect the residents of Appalachia from The Crooked Man.
The Crooked Man tries to collect souls for the devil.

'THOUGHT IT WAS FANMADE'
Once the trailer was posted to X, fans ripped it apart immediately.
"Almost thought this was fanmade at first glance," one fan said.

"Looks like a fanmade trailer, but I'm gonna give it a try," wrote another.
"Some Hollywood exec said, 'Let's make a cheap budgeted horror movie with a popular IP,'" a third added.
"This looks terrible lol," said another.
"Sorry to the people I'm sure worked hard on this but you all would’ve been better letting either of the first two iterations continue as a sequel… pretty sure box office-wise this’ll kill any chance of seeing Hellboy return to theaters with a better film…" said another.
"So is this real or like fanmade? I’m seriously asking," asked one last fan.

Hellboy originated as a comic book character created by Mike Mignola. His fame got so big that multiple movies were made based on the character.

Canceled third film - a third movie was in development in 2009, called Hellboy III: Dark Worlds. However, it was never made due to funding for the film.

ABOUT THE FILM
In addition to Jack and Adeline, the film also stars Yellowstone's Jefferson White as Tom Ferrel, Leah McNamara as Effie Kolb, Joseph Marcell as Reverend Watts, Hannah Margetson as Cora Fisher, and Martin Bassindale as the Crooked Man.
The Crooked Man was written by Mike and Christopher Golden.
It was directed by Brian Taylor.
The film was shot in Bulgaria from March to May 2023.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man is the first film in the franchise since 2019's self-titled reboot.
